Posted on Tue, 16 Aug 2016
Question: Hi doctor manisha! I tried messaging you from our chat yesterday but it showed it didn't go through. However good news! Wanted to tell you that I am pregnant! Alhamdullilah thanks so much for all your help. And the doctor did a urine examination and the urine was abit yellow so she said to drink lots of water and she gave me anti biotics. She also told me to start having folic acid.
Do I need to increase my thyroid dosage?

Brief Answer:
Precautions advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, many many congratulations.

Yes definitely start folic acid tablet and get all the routine antenatal investigations done including TSH.
Dose titration of thyroid will be done accordingly.
Take a lot of rest for good growth of the baby
Take milk, almonds, walnuts and proteins in good amount.
Protein rich foods are - all types of non vegetarian options, milk products and pulses.
Take a lot of care and in case you need any advice I'm there always.
