I was still waiting to get your pictures of the area of that the exact situation could be analyzed. Anyhow form your details it appears to be "alopecia areata". Eat at least 3-4 different fruits saplings per day. Every fruit is good but you can make a combination of sour with sweet fruits such as oranges, papaya and other of seasonal fruits. 2. Pulses are good source of proteins. So everyday have a small bowel full of mixed pulses. Add green leafy vegetables additionally in the pulses which contains lot of iron and vitamins in it. 3. Sprouts are the best source of fibers, minerals especially iron, vitamins and proteins too. so add it at-least alternate day if you can not make in every-day's part of meal. 4. Over night soaked and peeled almonds will give you good vitamin E which is good for the hair growth. 5. Brief Answer: Kindly see the detailed mail. Detailed Answer: Hello, I have gone though all the pictures sent by you. Though in some the resolution is not good but rest are quite importantly telling the exact situation of your patchy hair loss. The pictures further confirm the condition as detailed before. There are two important points in this condition: whether the patchy hair loss is stagnant or is increasing. If it is stagnant then in this condition the best modality of treatment would be medical and surgical therapy. Medical therapy include minoxidial lotion and certain tablet containing biotin and other essential nutrients. In surgical therapy- hair restoration can be done by : “stem cell therapy” or by “hair transplantation” after detailed work up. If the patches are progressive then the first and foremost thing is to stop further progression. It may require “immunomodulator drugs” under strict dermatological supervision. For the practical implication of all the above and to get even better of advise you can consult dermatology department at Medical College level in Bangalore. As said before, you can visit skin department and get best professional advice by the team of dermatologist working over in medical college. I hope these informations will help you. If you have further queries I will be glad to help. "Wish you good health" Regards, Dr Sanjay Kumar Kanodia MD (Dermatology)
