I get periods after every 35 days but I have spotting for a week at times.
will regular exercise regulate my periods?
I am newly married . I had some questions regarding sex with my partner.
I got my periods on 15dec. Is it enough if my partner uses condoms alone or should I use emergency pills jalso as protection if I have sex today

Brief Answer:
condom use alone is enough

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, I understand your health concerns.
If you are not overweight and your periods come on their own every 35 days with only slight irregularities then there is nothing much to worry to start with.
Regular exercise and diet will help you to deal with PCOD better definitely.
Pain during sex is common in initial few days and you will be fine soon so don't worry about that.
In case he uses condoms every time you indulge in sexual activity then there is no need to take emergency pill.
Emergency pill is only needed in case you forget using condom or in case condom ruptures during sex.
Routine intake emergency pill is not at all advisable and can cause severe irregularities in periods.
So just stop being anxious and enjoy personal life.
All the best.

Thanks Doctor.

I had a couple of more follow up queries.

Is there anything I can do about to reduce the pain during sex? Is the pain common for all or only people with pcos?

I sometimes have abdominal bloating for some days. Is it related with pcos?

Brief Answer:
pain is common in initial days

Detailed Answer:
Pain is not related to PCOD and is seen in all patients in initial days of sexual activity.
You can take tablet diclofenac an hour before expected sexual activity.
Its effects lasts for at least 6 hours so you can plan your sexual activity.
Bloating is common in second half of menstrual cycle due to the effect of progesterone and there is nothing to worry about it and needs no active intervention.
So just relax and stay anxiety free which will have maximum relieving effect on the pain after intercourse.
Take care.
