Question: Hi sir,

I am a 32 year old married man. Myself and my wife both are working. We are having 9 months old boy. Now we planned not to have 2nd child for next 3 years. Please suggest any contraceptive pills available in tamilnadu market which will avoid pregnancy after Sex.

You can use post coital pill containing levonorgestrel stat and repeat after 12 hrs.. Available in your market in the names of unwanted 72, i pill etc.. It reduces the chance of pregnancy by 69% if used within 72 hrs of unprotected intercourse..

It is better to take a contraceptive method like CuT or Oral contraceptive pills than repeated use of i pill..

Thank you for your information. Please confirm tablet name itself unwanted 72 and I pill. Also if she use this tablet any side effects will come? Any rest she has to take after consuming this tablet. Kindly clarify.

She can take unwanted 72 or i pill.. She can take 2 pills stat and repeat after 12 hrs..

The side effects are irregular cycles, spotting, delayed periods which will last for a month.. Repeated use of i pill is not recomended..

No rest is required.. She can breast feed the baby also..
