Posted on Wed, 26 Oct 2016
Question: today I fallen down flat and broken one of my front teeth.root is still there but the broken part is taken out by the dentist. Now dentist said as the root is also fractured the complete teeth has to be extracted and have to try below 3 options after extraction.
1. temporary teeth which daily I need to take out and clean it and put it back(temp denture)
2. fixed denture(in this option both side teeth need to be adjusted by cutting its size may be)
3. implantation
Now sir my question is after how many days of extraction I should go for implantation if I opt for implantation?
can I opt for temporary denture for the time being and later I can go for implantation if required?
what would be the best option I should try ?
is there any other better option other than the above 3 option I mentioned?
xray of teeth is attached

Brief Answer:
removable denture, Bridge and implant

Detailed Answer:
Thanks foryourquery. I have gone through your query.
As per your history, since there is root fracture, you need to get the root piece removed.
The best way to replace this missing tooth would be by a removable partial denture. The disadvantage of the partially denture is, it is a removable appliance and you need to remove during night time.
Since your front teeth have got hurt, even the adjacent teeth might have been damaged because of the impact. so get the vitality test of the adjacent teeth done after 15 days. If the teeth are vital then get an implant done for the missing tooth. If the adjacent teeth are non vital, then get the non vital teeth root canal treated and bridge done for the missing tooth by taking neighbour teeth as support.
The major disadvantage of getting a bridge now is, if you reduce the adjacent teeth and give bridge and the neighbour teeth become non vital after some time then the bridge will become waste. so wait for some time and then plan the treatment. Till then you can get a temporary denture done.
The disadvantage of getting an implant niw is immediate loading implants have less success rate than placing an implant 6 months after the tooth removal. Regarding cost wise the implant costs more than bridge. The cheapest one is the removable denture.
Depending upon your comfort and affordability you can decide what treatment you need. The Implant might cost you around 35000 to 50000, Bridge will cost you around 15000 to 20000 and the removable denture will cost you around 1500 to 2000 rupees.
You have mentioned in your query that you have uploaded the images of the radiographs but it is not there. Kindly upload the images so that I can give you better diagnosis and treatment plan.
I hope I have answered your query. If you have any queries reply me back. Take care.

Hi Sir,
thanks for your detailed answer. So it would be better to go by a removable partial denture for now.
After the vital test I can again consult with you for bridge or implant.
yes adjacent teeths are liitle bit affected.dentist I consulted said it would be alright after I take antibiotics

So its advisable to go for implant after 6 months?

there was some issue in loading the reports. I am uploading it again. Please see it and advice.please advice if I should take any other medicine other then that is mentioned in the reports.

Is there any side effect of partial denture?

Brief Answer:
Continue same medicines, Bridge or denture

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your reply. I have gone through the images and report.
As per the radiograph two teeth are broken these two teeth cannot be saved. Both has to be removed and replaced with either bridge or denture .
You can take the same medicines for 3 days and then get it treated. I feel it is better to go with either denture or bridge because 2 implants will cost you almost nearing 1 lakh.
The only disadvantage of removable denture is you need to remove during sleep other than that it's good and economical.
I hope I have answered your query. Take care.

Hi Sir,thanks for your advice. Today I got extraction of the broken teeth. The dentist said there is a laser procedure like bridge. In this procedure no need of reduction of teeth.it will last 3-5 year.

should I go with this procedure? It will cost around 5000 which is ok to me.

Also please let me know after how many day after extraction I should go for the procedure.

Brief Answer:
Let me know the exact name of the procedure or treatment plan..

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your reply.

Even with the help of lasers also, tooth has to be reduced to give bridge. So please ask your dentist what procedure he is planning to do exactly and let me know. Within 5000 nobody will replace 2 missing teeth unless it is replaced by removable denture that costs you less. After 15 days of extraction, you can go for the treatment.

I hope I have answered your query.
Take care.
