Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using healthcare magic.

I read your question and understand your concerns.

I understand it is difficult to take medications on long term basis but it is very important in patients with schizophrenia.

Although there are no annual injections for treatment of schizophrenia but monthly treatment options are widely available. One such example is olanzapine while other is risperidone which need to be taken fortnightly.

I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.

Brief Answer:
This can be resolved with treatment

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for reverting back to me.

Regression to childhood is known features of schizophrenia and it generally resolves with treatment.

I understand emotion of his parents but rather than feeling sad it is important to get him treated so this kind of things do not happen in future or at least they can be minimized.

I think this is happening due to either poor copliance to treatment or due to poor response to prescribed treatment. With monthly injections we can his improve his compliance as well as response to tackle the problem in right manner.

I hope this assists you further.
