Suffering From Severe Cold. Taking Plain Water And Normal Diet. How To Get Relief?
Question: from several days cold is not controlling for me. even i use to take only XXXXXXX plain water and normal diet.

I read your query,and would like to tell you that you have given very short history about your disease, as you have not tell about any associated problems like-
(1) Nasal obstruction
(2) Is there any nasal discharge if yes, is it watery/ mucoid/ prulent.
(3) Is there any headache.
(4) Are you having normal smelling power or it is diminished.
(5) Are you having excessive crusting in nostrils.
(6) Is there bouts of sneezing.
(7) Is your throat is O.K.
(8) Is there any episode of nasal bleeding.
To diagnose the chronic cold usually above details are must because any cold which remain for several days in a patient is usually the symptom of any of these diseases-
(1) Sinusitis.
(2) Chronic Rhinitis.( Atrophic Rhinitis )
(3) Nasal polyps.
(4) Deviated nasal septum with allergic rhinitis.
To differentiate above possibilities you are advice for these basic investigations.-
(1) C.T.scan of paranasal sinuses.
(2) Culture and sensitivity of nasal discharge.
(3) Diagnostic nasal endoscopy.
(4) Blood -CBC, ESR, blood sugar -fasting & post prendial.
After this much work by the co-relation of inferences of investigation with clinical findings of examination one can reach to correct diagnosis that can be accordingly managed.
