Suffering From Constipation And Pain In Rectum While Passing Stool. Any Advice?

default
Posted on Wed, 23 Jan 2013
Question: I am having trouble during my daily bowel motions. I will try to explain to the best of my abilities. On 28th dec the stool in my bowel seemed to accumulate in large chunks rather than smaller ones due to which i had considerable pain in the rectum while passing it out. I have an extremely controlled diet always ( due to my constant constipation). From then onwards all my bowel motions are painful. I feel the area has been hurt due to which all motions are hurting and also the stool itself is kind of hard in nature and in large chunks. I took Omez twice a day for 3 days however it did not help. I am not sure if i need something for local inflmation in the anus or something for my stomach but surely this has become a very annoying and painful activity everyday. The pain occurs in the anus, the very exterior region. Please advice.

Hello,
Thank you for posting a query.

Form your description, I have found that the basic problem is constipation which is giving rise to these conditions. As you are experiencing pain during defecation, you should be examined per rectally for presence of any fissure.

Here the primary target of treatment will be to reduce your constipation. Second is to reduce the pain and third will be to prevent infection and fissure formation.

So, you have to do the followings
1.     Do not take any omeprazole group of drug. It increases tendency of constipation.
2.     Take high fiber diet. That means diet XXXXXXX in XXXXXXX leafy vegetables. They are the richest source of natural fiber.
3.     Continue the isabgul.
4.     You have to take stool softener syrup containing laxative agents.
5.     You have to apply lidocaine jelly locally in the anal region. It will reduce the pain.

Lastly, you have to visit a general physician / general surgeon for per rectal examination. If any sign of early fissure formation found, meticulous treatment should be given to prevent it.

Hope this information suffices. Let me know, if you have any more question.

Regards.
