Answered by Dr. Pavan Kumar Gupta (39 minutes later)
Hello and thanks for query.

It is very normal not to poop for couple of days but as a doctor I can't take it casually as in few cases it could mean some underlying disorder and for that I need some information from you.

Has it occurred for the first time or it is happening frequently?
Was there any fever before this episode or any current fever?
Is there any pain abdomen?
Is there any vomiting?
Is there any bloating?
Is there any history of stomach ulcers?
Any change in medication?
Any change in your daily schedule like shift in duties?
Is there any history of less water intake recently?
Were you fasting?
Is there any stop of FLATUS?

Awaiting your response so that I can answer.

Thanks

Hello,

Since you are holidaying and had cold medicines your constipation could be multifactorial and reason could be use of XXXXXXX and refined foods, less water and more coffee and alcohol, tinned foods, greasy foods, no exercise, overeating, lack of chewing etc.

Take plenty of water and either milk of magnesia or dulcolax as they are available over the counter and without any side effects if used very sparingly.

Hope I answered all your questions. If you do not have any more queries, please close this discussion.

Thanks
