Dear Mr XXXXXXX

I have gone through all the reports. Your dad is having esophageal cancer with regional lymph gland spread. The optimum treatent is radiotherapy with concurrent chemotherapy if he is fit enough.

This treatment can be done at Indo-American hospital. It is a good center with modern facilities. Dr XXXXXXX is a competent and knowledgeable doctor.

However, the result is not good. For all practical purpose, it is not curable and will start growing again after some time. Average survival duration is around 15 months.

Hope I have answered your query. I will be available to answer any further follow-up queries.

Dear Mr XXXXXXX

Apparently this is stage III (locally advanced) disease and surgery is not indicated. This is not about risks but because surgery does not help in the long run.

If you want to consult at TMH Mumbai, then you can see Dr XXXXXXX Prabhash (Dept of Medical Oncology).
