Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I took the time to read through all that you have written. I am so sorry to hear of these numerous health problems you have faced and also the deteriorating relationship you have with your current treating doctor. However, stay positive and tell remind yourself that better days lie ahead.

If I understood you well, you want to change your physician. This is your right and you can do it at any tie. Doctors are there to relief you of the burden and not make it it any more heavier. I think this is no longer the way you see it in your current dealings with your doctor.
My advice on how to approach this process is simple.
1. Maintain the current relationship.
2. Actively search for a new physician.
3. Switch over when you have found a new doctor.

As for drug refills, you shouldn't worry about. A doctor starts with you from where ever you are. Whether taking drugs, need refill etc. Having drugs from previous physicians will not make a doctor to look at the relationship you are going to build with any suspicion. i suggest you don't let go of this current physician before getting anew one so as to avoid staying even for a day without a substitute physician as you ay not know exactly how long it can take you to get a new one.

Some drugs can only be prescribed by a physician and if no ones prescribes them, then you will not be able to obtain them. Please, avoid cutting off ties until you have found a new doctor(very important) else you may go for a while without the possibility of refilling your medications if it proves tough to get a new doctor.

I will suggest you have a XXXXXXX talk with him before you cut the relationship. Let him know what you never appreciated and your reasons for ending the relationship. This is going to serve as valuable feedback to him so that he can examine the surrounding circumstances and make sure it doesn't repeat itself in future with another client.

I hope you find this helpful. Feel free to ask follow up related questions if need be. I wish you good health and hope you find a doctor who makes you feel more comfortable soon.
