Question: Very small amount red tinged mucous abou 20 min after passing stool no blood in stool.

At age of 60 if you are passing red tinged mucous per-rectally you should undergo a sigmoidoscopic examination. A sigmoidscopy should resolve the cause of this problem and according the treatment can be suggested by your gastroenterologist. If blood had been mixed with stools then a full length colonoscopy would have been needed.
