Question: HI Doc. My wife and I are 81, me and 78 her. We have had a red skin off and on for about a year. Dermatoligist says it's old age. It comes and goes. Is he right or is there a cure?
She also has itchy nose at times and itchy burning eyes often. Like a fever.

Brief Answer:
senile xerosis

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir,
Thanks for the query.
Your dermatologist might be correct. There is an entity called as senile xerosis which may present with rash and itch.
However I would like to see a photograph of the lesion.
This will help me in giving a closer diagnosis and a better line of management.
Please upload a photograph.
There is an option to do so on right side of query page.
Waiting for your response.
Thank you
