Detailed Answer:
Hello sir,
Thank you for writing in to Hcm.
This is Dr.Riyanka glad to be answering your query.
I understand your concern, please do not worry.
Sore throat with body ache is usually seen in patients suffering from flu.
Flu is commonly viral in nature which means it is self limiting and shall take a week for recovery. Sore throat could be due to secondary bacterial infection of the throat.
In such conditions it is a advisable to consult a general physician as he/she may recommend:
1. Tablet Paracetamol 500mg thrice daily for three days to relieve the pain (do not exceed 2000mg per day).this is available over the counter.
2.Tablet cetrizine 10mg once at night for 3days-antihistamine.
3. Prescription drugs like Antibiotics for sore throat- tablet amoxycillin500mg thrice daily for 5days(provided you are not allergic to these).

Along with this, do warm salt water gargling to soothen the throat. Medicated lozenges provide relief to the throat.
Also, drink lots of fluids to maintain electrolyte balance.
Hope your query was answered.
