Question: My left foot has had a bunion surgery and I have hammer toes on the rest of them. The join at the base of my big toe worn out. The surgeion wants to fuse the big toe and then shorten the other 4 toes, to correct the problem. I am having a lot of pain in that big toe join. Please give me you opinion and any other information or alternatives to this surgery.

Brief Answer:
Surgery is only solution

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. For this type of deformity surgery is only solution. It can not be corrected by any other mean. Also when surgery is not done there is chances of developing ulcers. As you already developed callocities. So I would sugggest you to go ahead with procedure as soon as possible.
As you want to know about footwear modification I would suggest you to wear sillicone sole on shoes. It will prevent further sore in foot but can not correct deformities.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks
