Surgical abortion is a short procedure which is done under a short anaesthesia.
Pulmonary embolism is rare after such a short procedure. Deaths due to PE after abortion have been reported in less than 2% cases.
Please do not worry. Most of the cases do recover without any complications after an abortion.
