default
Posted on Mon, 21 Apr 2014
Question: I've noticed some blood from membrane in my nose every day for a week since having xrays (the one that you have every 5 years that revolves around your head) at the dentist.. this has never happened before. Any reason for concern?

Brief Answer: There is no cause for worry. Detailed Answer: Hi, Thank you for your query. 1. It is unlikely that you have a nasal bleed due to the dental X-rays. It is more likely of you have had dental work done. 2. Get a simple nasal examination done, especially if the bleed is one sided. 3. Have you had a recent cold or has there been any change in weather (temperature or humidity}? Are you currently on any medication? 4. If the amount of the nasal bleeding is very little, there is no need for any active management. 5. Your doctor may do a general check-up, including a blood pressure recording , hemogram, blood sugar levels and a coagulogram. Saline nasal drops may help decrease any dryness in the nose. I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them. Regards.
