Brief Answer: YOU CAN USE VOLINI. FOLLOW THE ADVICES. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my suggestions: 1) Low back pain or backache is a quite COMMON phenomena throughout the pregnancy period. It occurs due to relaxation of pelvic ligaments and loosening of surrounding joints for birth process by RELAXIN hormone. Weight gain, stress, muscle separation, postural changes etc are associated factor for back pain. Muscle relaxant gel or spray like VOLINI etc can be applied up to 28 weeks of gestational age. After that (i.e. 28 weeks onwards) NSAID or pain killers should be avoided. You do not use any type of pain killers without the advice of your obstetrician. You can use plain PARACETAMOL if the pain is severe. You can follow this measures to reduce back pain like : a) Regular Light exercise which includes walking, stationary cycling etc. You can consult with Physiotherapist for proper guidance on various exercises. b) Apply hot water bag/ bottle or cold ice pack over the back region and start with compression for 20 to 30 min. 2) CORRECT POSTURE: It is must needed for you to reduce back pain. a) Sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees will take stress off your back and it is always in LEFT LATERAL POSITION. b) Sitting at a desk or chair - place a rolled-up towel behind your back for support; rest your feet on a stack of books or stool and sit up straight, with your shoulders back. c) Long time standing is NOT recommended. You should take adequate bed rest on HARD surface MATTRESS. Very soft bed should be avoided. Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query. Wish your good health and successful motherhood. Regards, Dr Soumen For future query, you can directly approach me through http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/Funnel?page=askDoctorDirectly&docId=63326
