Brief Answer:
Radiotherapy can be used

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Since your father has cancer of stomach and after 4 cycles of chemotherapy the tumour has shrunk surgery is very safe at this stage.

If the patient is not willing for surgery then radiotherapy can be used.

Radiation therapy uses high-powered beams of energy, such as X-rays, to kill cancer cells. The energy beams come from a machine that moves around you as you lie on a table.

After complete stomach removal huger sensation will be reduced by 25%.

Total gastrectomy involves removing the entire stomach and some surrounding tissue. The esophagus is then connected directly to the small intestine to allow food to move through your digestive system.

Subtotal gastrectomy is another option other than total gastrectomy were the surgeon removes only the portion of the stomach affected by cancer.

After surgery vitamins, b 12, and iron requirements and other nutrients will be absorbed from small intestine.

Patients can get back to normal life after 3 months.

Initially there will be weight loss for 1 month after which there will be gradual increase in weight.

Patients can start eating after 2 weeks of time.It is not painful.

Medications will be effective as before and it will be absorbed through the intestine.
