Is There Drug Interaction Between Myrbetriq And Aspirin?

default
Posted on Thu, 12 Nov 2015
Question: Last night I had a quarter inch wide, half inch long straight dark blood-colored streak along the crease of my eye (outer corner). It was not there the last time I looked in the mirror but was there at bedtime. This morning it has spread down by about 3/4 of an inch and looks like a backwards comma. I had been put on baby aspirin in May when it was thought I might have a heart problem, which turned out not to be the case. Tests showed clear arteries. I continued taking the aspirin without asking and am wondering if that is causing what I guess is bleeding. If it continues, would I see my GP, a dermatologist or what. I also recently started taking Myrbetriq. Could that be the problem?

Brief Answer:
A small skin bleed due to aspirin

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
The small bleeding into the skin is due to the antiplatelet action of aspirin .
Now that you have stopped aspirin, it would resolve with time. Please do not rub the area.
Please have your blood pressure checked if not done already and ensure that it is not high.
There is no adverse interaction between Myrbetriq and aspirin.

Take care,

And no need to continue aspirin, right? And Myrbetriq would not cause the bleeding?
Blood pressure is well under control with medication: 115/70 or lower.

Brief Answer:
Yes

Detailed Answer:
Sorry for the delay in replying.
Please stop the aspirin. With normal arteries, normal blood pressure and no diabetes, aspirin may cause more harm by way of bleeding than beefit.
You can continue the Myrbetriq.
Best wishes,
