Question: Is there a nerve in my back that would cause my right foot to stay asleep? I had an ultrasound test last week and the stint in my right leg is working.

Brief Answer:
Spinal nerve supplying foot

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern.

There are multiple nerves which supply right foot, out of which important nerves are - peroneal, tibialis anterior and posterior branches. These nerves supply all foot muscles and sensations. These nerves originate from lower back (lumbo-sacral spine).

Pressure on nerves can cause temporary block in sensations and muscle supply, which result in sleep like sensation in foot. Spontaneous recovery occurs after few minutes to hours.

Hope it will help you. Thanks. Take care.
