Posted on Mon, 7 Nov 2016
Question: Hi i have a question that has been troubling me for a while, one night i slept beside this laptop HP Spectre x360 4128TU 13 that is plugged in with the charger(AC power adapter) and when its plugged in with the charger its very hot and i was so tired i fell asleep and slept with the top of the head beside the heat output of the laptop where the hot gas is realised from the laptop, i slept for 6 hours and after i woke up i realised it and this has been troubling me for weeks and i have been having a headache for weeks just after this incident , i would like to ask would this result in me having brain damage and lose brain cells causing me to lose my thinking process or get tumour?

And the Laptop was on when i slept beside it

Will the heat from the laptop that is on(as the screen is still showing the website was on when i woke up) fry my brains and i lose brain cells and brain neurons resulting me losing me thought process or get brain damage?

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concerrn.

However I would like to reassure you, there has been no damage from that episode, certainly not to the brain. The brain is well protected inside the skull far away from any direct damage. Even if the temperature had been very high the one to suffer would have been the scalp (or whichever part was nearer), which would suffer a burn, but since that is superficial, well visible I suppose that is not your case fortunately. Certainly no damage to the brain.
The headache is from the anxiety the episode has provoked, it is called tension type headache, the most common headache triggered by stress and anxiety.

I hope to have been of help.
