Is The B. Braun Knee Preferred Over Other Alternatives For Total Knee Replacement?
Question: Hi, I am a 48 year old male, I have had RA for 20+ years. My weight is normal and I have no BP, diabetes or other co-morbidity. I require a total knee replacement. Although Zimmer & JnJ knees are the most common products in XXXXXXX I have been told that the best knee available is made by B. Braun and it has a special 7 layer coating to reduce wear and flaking, a important consideration for a younger patient.

There are very limited surgeons who use this product in XXXXXXX I am told that it is because the B. Braun knee is more expensive and they do no "institutional discounting". I want know if you or any of your colleagues have experience with B. Braun products and if yes, your view of their knee.

Braun product called the "Gold knee", ie: which year it was launched, how many patients has it been used in etc. I am trying to distinguish the science & engineering behind it from the marketing talk. What is the evidence that it is truly a superior product compared to JnJ and Zimmer?
