Is Smoking After A Tonsillectomy Safe?

default
Posted on Fri, 5 Feb 2016
Question: I had my tonsils removed on Tuesday morning at 9:00, it's Friday now and I haven't had a dip of tobacco since Monday night, I feel like I'm going crazy from withdrawals and don't want to quit right now, would i be safe to put a dip in and brush my teeth directly after I get done with it?

Brief Answer:
Would advise against it

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome

I appreciate your concern

I would advise against any tobacco intake especially smoking after a procedure such as tonsillectomy. You may consider nicotine patches in the meanwhile after consulting your doctor if the withdrawal spells are severe.

let me know if you have a follow up query

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
