Is Second-trimester Abortion Fatal?

Question: Hi my wife and I decided for a abortion when we found her pregnant as we have our first baby at 10months old and other issues which is stopping us from continuing. During scan we found gestation is at 13weeks and my wife is totally unaware of it as she had some bleeding 2months back and thought it's periods. And we asked to abort anyway during that we found placenta developing anteriorly. Is it safe to abort or what could be complication in this pls suggest.

I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.

Since she has a 13 weeks pregnancy, it can be a slightly cumbersome process to abort.
It will be a second-trimester abortion, hence has to be terminated by medications and proper medical supervision.

It may take 1-2 days for the process to complete.
In a rare situation, if the failure of medical management occurs, then the termination has to be done surgically.
