Brief Answer:
Hello XXXX, no ovulation is no pregnancy ideally.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
Thanks for showing confidence on healthcaremagic.

In concern with your query regarding ovulation and pregnancy , i would like to tell you that a woman when she attains her first menses as we call it,"menarche". one may note that the initial cycles after menarche for 2-3 years are usually anovulatory cycles where no ovulation occurs and the menses may be irregular due to hormonal maturation.then after 2-3 years when cycles tend to regularize and there is associated dysmenorrhoea or pain during menses, it indicates that she has started ovulation which means that a single dominant follicle or ova is recruited under hormonal control and which can be fertilized there upon by a sperm. so in short , she can get pregnant only when she ovulates.

if she has not had her periods yet and not ovulated yet, then it doesn't mean that she is not capable of pregnancy in future, simply because, in some young girls menarche may occur as late as 16-17 years also, that is what we call ,"late menarche".

regarding your third question, pregnancy is not possible naturally with intercourse if the lady has not ovulated, that is what is known as the safe period , a natural contraception method. but again there are techniques where eggs/ovas are harvested just before ovulation under ultrasound guidance from the ovary ( known as ova harvesting) , and the eggs are fertilised invitro to create an embryo by process called ICSI( intracytoplasmic sperm injection) for artificial fertilization, for couples who are undertaking treatment for infertility.

so , i hope i have answered your query in detail and in case you have further doubts and questions you may contact me at :-

So to simplify this, a girl at the age of 1,2,3,4 Etc cannot fall pregnant as their bodies have not got the appropriate hormones to aid a pregnancy. So medically it's completely impossible for girls to fall pregnant at that age simply because their bodies at that age are not designed for this. Secondly pregnamcy can only be attained once a girl ovulAtes during puberty . And if a girl has not yet ovulated, she cannot get pregnant as there are no eggs present. Is this correct ?

Brief Answer:
Hello XXXX, you have understood most of it.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks XXXX for following up,

You have understood the most of it just the last part , that the eggs are always present in form of graffian follicles from the day the girl is born. For information, she carries 3 lakh immature follicles at birth which reduce to 400 by puberty when she menstruates. Only one follicle matures of the total recruited during each cycle and becomes dominant and undergoes ovulation and rest undergo atresia.

Again there have been cases in literature where girls have given birth at 7 years of age , but those are cases of early maturation or premature puberty where hyper pituitarism was the cause. But under normal circumstances its not possible for a woman to get pregnant if ovulation has not occurred.

Thanks. Any further query u can help you with feel free to contact on:-

To finalise , if a girl has not attained menarche and puberty, pregnsncy is impossible until this has been achieved ?
No ovulation is equal to no egg and no egg is equal to no pregnsncy ? Is this correct and secondly , average age a girl will ovulate will be between 8 and 16? Ovulation before age of 5 for example would be impossible ?
