Is Pregnancy Possible Through Pre-ejaculatory Fluid?

default
Posted on Thu, 7 Jan 2016
Question: My partner rubbed his gential against mine and we did not have intercourse and he did not ejaculate. However, I am worried that his precum could have had some sperm and it could've gotten in, especially with his finger.

The first day of my last period was Nov. 22 and I was with my partner on Dec. 5. I have a 28-day cycle. I got worried and took the My Way, EC pill on Dec. 6. But I had already begun to have pain on my left ovary that same day. I'm not sure if I was ovulating that day or about to begin. On Dec.. 7, I saw a clear, thin mucus like egg whites, so I could've ovulated that day or the 5th. I'm not sure!

I started having cramps Dec. 11-13 and then they died down after that. My period is due Dec. 20. What are the chances of pregnancy?

Brief Answer:
No chance of getting pregnant.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Your chances of pregnancy are 0.
Please do not worry.
Without intercourse and ejaculation, there cannot be a pregnancy.
Please wait for your period.
IT might be delayed a bit because of the EC pill, but you will surely have it.
Rest assured, there is no chance of a pregnancy at all.
All the best.
PLease feel free to discuss further.

Thank you Dr. XXXXXXX but is it true that precum does have sperm in it or not. I've read conflicting information about it. I'm worried because I also read that there is no evidence that the EC pill works after ovulation.

Brief Answer:
Precum carries risk of pregnancy, and EC does not work after ovulation

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for the appreciation.
Let me explain further.
Precum indeed does have live sperm, and carries a risk of pregnancy.
But there was no intercourse, as you mentioned, so there is no question of a pregnancy at all.
And regarding the EC, it has very less chances of working after ovulation.
But then, there was no intercourse in the first place, so I feel that your worries are baseless.
Please relax.
