Brief Answer:
Side effect of I pill.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
The I pill is 96 % effective when taken within 24 hours, so your chances of pregnancy are 5 %.
Periods can be delayed by the I pill, so do not worry.
The brownish discharge also is a side effect of the I pill.
You should take a pregnancy test around the 2nd of August just to confirm that there is no pregnancy.
All the best

Hi Doc,

Thanks for your reply. I didn't take the ipill within 24 hours, but it was definitely within 36 hours. I always get periods in 25 days, and this time it is delayed by 5-6 days. As said before I am getting brown discharge since 5th July and today I see brown discharge with some black spots. Is it something to worry about? or its just the side effect of ipill?
Since, I did not take ipill within 24 hrs, is there a chance of pregnancy? Also, please suggest the reason why should I take pregnancy test around 2nd of August and not now.
How many days would my period be delayed? What should I do now?
Thank you
doctor

Brief Answer:
You can take a test tomorrow.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
Even when taken within 36 hours, it is quite effective.
Yes, the delayed period and the brownish discharge is definitely a side effect of the I pill.
Chances of pregnancy are very slim, as I told you, less than 5 %.
And I am sorry, if the last time you had unprotected sex was on 14th of XXXXXXX you can definitely take a pregnancy test tomorrow morning.
Do not worry , you will be fine.
THe periods can be delayed for upto 10 days at times.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Is the test positive ?

Detailed Answer:
IS the pregnancy test positive ?
A positive test means that there are two red lines on the strip, after adding the urine sample, and that means that you are pregnant .
Were there two lines on the test ?
When did you take the test ?
