Posted on Tue, 25 Aug 2015
Question: Hi, I usually have my periods at the end of any given month but during the month of May I had had unprotected sex so my gynae recommended I take an Emergency contraceptive Pill. Also i wanted to take period pre ponement tablets because I would be on vacation so she gave me a T. Deviry 10mg tablets for 3 days. In the month of XXXXXXX I didn't have periods at the end of the month, instead it shifted to July first week. Also I had unprotected sex on the 4th and 5th day of my periods though he didn't ejaculate inside me. For the month of August my period date is due. Am I prenant? What are my chances of Pregnancy?

Brief Answer:
Not pregnant at all

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your anxiety related to the issue.
There is no risk of pregnancy and nothing to worry.
The delay was due to the intake of emergency pill and then the preponement pills.
Moreover you had periods after those pills so nothing to worry.
Again you had unprotected sex on day 5 so no egg in female body to form a baby so no chance to be pregnant.
Relax dear and in future either do protected intercourse or shift to a regular method of contraception like oral pills.
Take care
Regards
Dr Manisha

Are Oral Contraceptive pills safe? Would I get them without prescription. I also have polycystic ovaries, so I used to take those 21 day pills regularly but then My periods started to maintain flow so I stopped visiting the doctor. Will such pills affect my pregnancy status in future?

Brief Answer:
Safe and highly recommended

Detailed Answer:
No oral pills are safe and are available on prescription and will rather help in keeping all your hormones in good sync so will assist in pregnancy in future.
Take krimson 35 or ginette 35 as it will regulate periods, keep PCOD on check and help in contraception.

What are the chances of getting pregnant when having unprotected sex even if the man does not ejaculate inside the women?
Also, I still haven't gotten my periods, though in the month of July I'd gotten it on the 1st. When can I expect it?

Brief Answer:
Wait for a week for periods

Detailed Answer:
Chances of pregnancy are very low in case there isn't any ejaculation inside the vagina as precum has very low concentration of sperms.
Moreover you took emergency pill and there was no egg in your body to form baby in other turn of unprotected sex.
It is common to have deranged periods for a couple of months after this upheaval in periods due to delay medicine and ipill.
So just wait for your periods for another week and in case you still don't get them then you will need to take Progesterone pills for withdrawal of periods.
