Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking I-pill?

Question: Hi,
My gf and myself had protected sex. She took ipill 7hours post sex. Her periods were about to end..she had some spotting kind of bleeding...we did check the condom for any leakage but there was no leakage.. Her periods stopped completely after 1-2 days..now she is feeling too sleepy . Is excessive sleeping, periods stopping side effect of the pill? What are the chances of getting pregnant?

Please help us clearing our doubts

hello and welcome to HCM. Thanks for writin in to us with your health query. I have gone through your query and understand your concerns completely. I would like to assure you that the chances of pregnancy are nill, as you had intercourse at the time of end of her periods which is a safe period, secondly also she took Ipill, although which was unnecessary . also you guys used protection which didnot break. periods do get deranged after Ipill . Sleeping is not due to Ipill or less period. Can you also tell me the exact date of her period and the day you had sex so I can guide you better. I hope I had allay your anxiety. Her periods are irregular since past few months and are getting extended for more than a week... She got periods on 30th March... And lasted for 18-19 days..
We had sex on 14th April...

Since past 2 days ,my gf didn't got periods but today she got some spotting ...color of spotting was bright red... Is it due to ipill which she had or pregnancy? Please help us clear our doubt

She went to gynac for checkup...The doctor told her to undergo some test ...TSH, FSH ,LH, AMH, hemaeglobin , random blood sugar... My gf had thyroid problems earlier but she had taken TSH test few months back and it was normal... Could you just enlighten on these tests ?

Hemoglobin and blood sugar levels will give information about the general wellbeing.
TSH derangement is the most common reason for cycle irregularities so better to get it checked.
LH,FSH and AMH predict future persistence of irregular cycles.
Though she has a reason for her irregular cycles in the form of ipill intake but still she can very well get the tests done to relieve her anxiety and may get an important information too.
