Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking I-pill?

Posted on Fri, 22 Jan 2016
Question: Hi,

I have a query regarding possibility of pregnancy. My girlfriend first day of the period was on 18th Dec and on 25th Dec we had protected sex(3 times) .But just to be sure(to make sure no traces of sperm had went in)she had i-pill within 24hours ie. on 25th night around 8PM.
From yesterday i.e 29th Dec , she is complaining of mild cramp and vaginal slight pain(or burning sensation)
Is there any chances of her getting pregnant . Please let me know your views.

Brief Answer:
No chance of pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir, thanks for trusting health care magic.
There is nothing to worry as these symptoms are because of ipill intake which has high dose of progesterone and thus causes withdrawal symptoms.
It may lead to early onset of period flow and delayed periods in next cycle.
So nothing to worry as most likely there is no risk of pregnancy since it was a protected sex and she took ipill within stipulated time.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. She is feeling pain more while passing urine since yesterday and feeling bit dizzy(sometime) also. Is it all due to the i-pill ?

If you can suggest any medication would be helpful.

Brief Answer:
Will be fine soon

Detailed Answer:
It is all due to the repeated sexual activity causing soreness of the vagina and uretheral opening.
It will go by itself but till then ask her to take a lot of water (at least 2 litres a day).
Wear cotton based undergarments and drink a lot of fresh fruit juices along with cranberry juice which is very good in helping in this condition.
Take care
