Question: Is pigmented purpuric dermatoses contagious, as my partner has been diagnosed with this and is due to visit his young granddaughter. Would there be any danger to her, she is two years old.

Pigmented purpuric dermatoses is a common term used to describe a group of chronic skin disorder.The exact cause and pathophysiology are unknown but it seems to be a condition that affect the small blood vessels (capillaries ) in skin.
This is not a contagious condition because it is not caused by microorganisms like bacteria,fungus or viruses.
You don't need to worry about his granddaughter.There is no danger at all.
