Brief Answer:
Phakic IOL can be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic.

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history.
Phakic Intraocular lens surgery is meant for people who are not eligible for LASIK surgery. It is bascially indicated in people with higher refractive errors which cannot be corrected by LASIK surgery and those with thin corneas in whom it is not possible to do LASIK surgery.

I want to have few more details like your refractive power and details of any other test if done by your doctor to decide that you are eligible to undergo LASIK surgery.

But to say in general Phakic Intraocular lens surgery can be done in those who are not eligible to undergo LASIK surgery.
Do get back to me with the details so that I can answer your question more accurately.

Hope the information is helpful to you.

Thank you
With regards

Follow up: Dr. Dadapeer K (3 minutes later)
Right eye: -4.5, left eye: -5.5.
i had done the lasik test, everything was fine except the unstable change in the power. i had a -0.5 cylindrical increase in my left eye so the doctor told that i may not be that suitable for lasik.

i had it checked a month back, my he suggested pkol, but another ophhalmologist told i can do lasik.

Brief Answer:
You need to wait till the power is stable.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for the follow up question.

The refractive surgeries like LASIK and Phakic IOL are ideally done once the refractive error is stable and does show any further variation. As if surgery done and if the refractive error increases again then spectacles are required even after the refractive surgery also.
Hence your doctor has told that lasik is not suitable for you as of now. But once the refractive error is stable you can undergo lasik surgery.
Phakic IOL may not be required in your case as the refractive error can be corrected by simple LASIK surgery alone.

Hence you need to wait for atleast another 6-12 months and if there is no variation in the refractive power then you can undergo refractive surgery.

Hope the information is helpful to you.

Thank you
