Is Mild Inflammation In Stomach And A Few Polyps A Cause For Concern?

default
Posted on Mon, 7 Mar 2016
Question: My endoscopy showed mild inflamation of stomach and a few polyups. Should I be concerned about the polyups? Still taking nexium once a day and carafate twice day. Follow up with GI is feb 11th. Polyups were removed and some inflamed lining for biopsy

Brief Answer:
More likely no cause for concern

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. In majority of cases, polyps are totally innocent and harmless. But to reach to that conclusion we will have to rely on the biopsy report. So to actually be able to rule out any cause for concern, we need the biopsy report.

But in most cases the polyps are harmless as I mentioned earlier, and if at all you do not have any symptoms clinically then that is even better news. So, to be very honest we will have to wait for the biopsy report ma'am. But do not worry, like most of the majority I am sure there should be no cause for concern in your case as well.

I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.
