Question:
Can medical mariuana help with symptoms of Schizoprenia? Olanzqpine just makes my son sleep all day and he can't function. Is there any medication with no sie affects? Thanks

I can understand your concern.

Medical marijuana consists of cannabis alkaloids and I don't think it will help in schizophrenia. This could theoretically worsen the symptoms of Schizophrenia.

If he is sleeping with Olanzapine then other drugs like Aripiprazole or Lurasidone can be tried. These drugs are in the same group as Olanzapine and don't cause sedation or weight gain as side effects. These are better tolerated. So you can talk with his doctor about these drugs.
