Is Light Vaginal Bleeding A Sign Of Pregnancy?

Question: My periods have changed the last few months. in July, it was lighter. After that, I have had three that have had flow similar to a regular period. They do start later than they did in the past and end a little ealrier. They usually start Mon afternoon, but they now start Tuesday or in the middle of the night between Monday and Tuesday. They also usually end Fri night, now they are over ny Fri.morning. At times, the blood doesn't flow out, but it's inside my vagina. I took a test in july Aug and sept. and they were neg. I tried to take one the day before my period started this time, but I didn't really have to go. It was only a couple drops but read neg. Is this a sign of pregnancy?

Your periods have become lighter since few months. So this is not a sign of pregnancy. If it was light during just one cycle, then one could think of the possibility of pregnancy.

The changed pattern of period bleeding in your case could be due to
- hormonal variation due to stress ( physical or mental)
- sudden change in weight
- anaemia
- thyroid problem

In some cases there may be no apparent reason.

As long as you are having regular period, there is no apparent ovulation problem. So don't worry.

ok thank you. my period was light one month after taking antibiotics for uti. I used protection for 2 weeks after the uti. The periods are the light one seemed like periods, they were just a day or so shorter than before...like I had normal flow for 3 days, barely anything the next two. (I could see some on paper in my vagina, but it did not come out). I have been nervous around period time ever since the light one. I am on bc and always take it. the month of the light period, I did start the pack 12 hours late because the store was closed

thank you...last questions, I hope. on the last days of period, I was stimulated and noticed that the discharge was brownish purple is and sticky. is this due to the end of period blood mixed with being aroused? I believe I had similar discharge last month but can't remember. lastly, my birth control was in the room next to kitchen while boiling vegetables, that created steam. the pack was in the next room and did not feel warm. are they effective still. this was for an hour...Probably less.

thank you for taking the time to answer me. I'm just so concerned that I had the light period in July, and since then, my periods have started a day late and after only 3 days, just brown spotting for a day or two. are periods getting shorter a sign of pregnancy (I'm 30, been on brith control since I was 26)

I took a test last month and negative. I tried to take on after work the day before my period started but like I said, only a few drops of urine. the test was neg. I hear that if the neg. line shows up, it means the test worked properly and enough urine was used (I think directions said 5 sec). was this test accurate or no?

Yes. Few drops of urine are enough for performing pregnancy test. The test was accurate. As a proof, you also started periods the following day.

I guess this will be the last question. my floor was wet on carpet due to flooding. bc packet was there. the papers were wet. could moisture get in to the blister pack and make it not effective? it was thee for over 12 hours
