Since we are not married we are very scared of the Instance & guilty too (We are sorry) & cant afford a child now.
Also since she stays in altogether a different state she cant afford to consult a doctor.

Brief Answer:
Do not self medicate yourself.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
It is life threatening to try and abort the pregnancy on your own.
It is essential to have the pregnancy confirmed by a gynecologist .
It must be exactly dated too.
Next, medical abortion pills are to be taken as per prescription and correct schedule that your doctor explains to you.
I can explain the general protocol to you, but again, taking them without consulting a doctor is not just illegal, but potentially life threatening.
Generally, 1 tablet of Mifepristone is taken orally.
24 hours later, 2 tablets of 200 mcg Cytotec are taken orally or vaginally followed by 2 more such tablets another 24 hours later.
After this procedure, bleeding and cramping might start within 24 - 48 hours, and continue for upto 2 - 3 weeks.
It is also vital to have a follow up ultrasound scan to check that the abortion pills worked and the uterus is empty, after 15 days of taking the tablets.
Failing to take these precautions , there are risks such as - infection, uncontrolled bleeding, retained products, undiagnosed ectopic pregnancy etc.
And if these steps are followed, the pills work in more than 95 % of cases.
All the best

Hi Mam,

She has already taken Mifepristone 200 Mg tablet yesterday night (26th Night).
& tonight she is going to 2 tabs of Misoprostol 200Mcg (each) & after 12 hours another 2 tabs.

My questions are below:
1. Which would be more effective orally or vaginally?
2. If Vaginally is there any specific area/position that the medicine should reach?
3. Is there any precaution or anything specific to be kept in mind if taken orally or Vaginally?
4. Is there any observation we have to keep?

Thanks & Regards.

Brief Answer:
Details below.

Detailed Answer:
1. Both the ways are equally effective. Vaginal route is associated with lesser side effects.
2. The medicine should reach high up in the vagina and keep lying for half an hour after inserting the medicine.
3. It can cause fever, nausea, vomiting, chills and rigor and sudden heavy bleeding.
4. Do watch for severe abdominal cramps and heavy bleeding. In that case she might have to attend an emergency room.

Thanks mam,

She has taken Misoprostol 2 tabs vaginally these are the observations:
1. Heavy bleeding started in 2 hours of Insertions.
2. However with the blood the tabs also came out, can this be an issue?
3. Since she is being bleeding heavy (4, 5 Pads) till 10:00 AM today should she use another 2 medicine & can that be taken orally?
4. FYI: As of now the bleeding & pain has come down.
she has been taking out a lill clots & lill fleshy chunks is the real behaviour of medicine.

Thanks & Regards.

Please let us know if there any other observation to required.

Answered by Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal (4 hours later)
Brief Answer:
It is normal.

Detailed Answer:
The bleeding is expected to start after putting in the tablets. It is normal for the tablets to come out. That does not matter.
It is better to take rest of the two tablets orally. This will help in complete expulsion of products.
Just wait for the pain and bleeding to subsie in next 2-3 days. In case the heavy bleeding continues then do consult a gynecologist for proper medicines to stop bleeding.

Thanks Mam,

After Taking 2 more misoprostol orally:
she started bleeding again for 3 hours with blood & clots.
However after that bleeding subdued & now its slightly bleeding its 12:00AM now.
Please let me know if this is absolutely fine.
If she needs to take any more misoprostol or any other tablet.
Also want to know if the process was successful.
Is there any sign which shows that this was successful.

Please let us know... Thanks for your help.

Answered by Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal (5 hours later)
Brief Answer:
It is normal.

Detailed Answer:
It normal for the bleeding to subside after some time. If she has expelled a light pink tissue measuring around 4-5 cm in size then the process is likely to be complete. She can have some intermittent bleeding and mild abdominal cramps for next 2 weeks.
To make sure that all the products of conception have been expelled she will have to get an ultrasound scan done after 4-5 days. No specific medicine is needed now.
Regards.

Answered by Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
Not much to worry.

Detailed Answer:
The report shows a tiny subcentric retained product. If she is having an intermittent bleeding then this may need to be removed by D&C. But if she ios feeling normal then she can wait till her next periods. Such small pieces can come out with the menstrual blood. Regards.

Thanks Mam & a very Good morning:

After looking at the ultrasound report, yesterday the doc that she has consulted has given her 2 option:
Either to go for D&P or some medicine which would go for 3 months through which the remainings will comeout..

About her physical Condition:
So far she was having less than normal bleeding (comparably more on the early part of the morning). However she said that today No bleeding, but a very tiny piece of clot kind substance came out..
She has been feeling a lill weak.

Please share your suggestions/ advice...
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
She can take medicines.

Detailed Answer:
It is normal to have a persistent bleeding after taking the abortion pills. She should take medicines to expel the remaining products after consulting her gynecologist. Since the retained product is a very tiny piece, a D&C can be avoided.
Regards.
