Usually in hypokalemic patients even magnesium deficiency is present. Also magnesium deficiency is known for aggravating hypokalemia by increasing potassium ion secretion from the kidneys.

Hence , magnesium supplements can be given along with potassium supplements for hypokalemia to improve potassium levels. However, kindly inform your treating doctor before taking the medication.

Hope this answers your query. Don't worry .
