Is It Safe To Take Ativan After 12 Hours Of Alcohol Intake?
Question: I recently as prescribed Ativan to help with anxiety. previously I self medicated with alcohol (which I know makes it worse). I drank a lot on vacation yesterday and couldn't sleep and now I am having terrible anxiety an panic. my question is, I am going to quit the drinking and wondering if using Ativan will be OK to take today as I had a lot to drink yesterday? And, can I use Ativan as a way to calm my anxiety while I quit drinking?

With the available limited information it will not be possible for me to determine accurate dose for you.
Having said this in adult young healthy male the dose of ativan ranges from 2-8 mg per day.
For deciding the proper dose it is advisable to talk to your treating doctor.
