Question: My wife is pregnant, at present the gestational period is 18 weeks. From last 2-3 weeks she is suffering from cough & bronchitis, which increases and decreases in periods. When it gets acute she is takes Ascoril Expectorant 5ml x 3times/day for 2-3 days. Pls inform if it’s safe and how often the same can be administered? As per her examination by Obstetrician & Gynecologist, 2 weeks back including USG report, everything I fine with the pregnancy. This is her 2nd pregnancy and at present she is 37 years old, last pregnancy was 4 years back and everything was fine. She is not suffering from any major chronic diseases, but from last 8-9 months she is having cough and bronchitis problem. When she was not pregnant, 4 months back, she sometimes used to take Seroflo 125 inhaler (1-2 puffs) in case of acute problems, especially at night time. Now also most of the times the acuteness is at night time, can we use Seroflo 125 at present? How often and what can be the dosages? If not can you suggest any alternates?
Please also suggest line of treatment for cold, flu, cough and bronchitis in 2nd & 3rd trimester of pregnancy. Since we are staying in Russia and tentative delivery date is May 2015 end, and till then climate here is cold (till March end extreme cold average temperature is from -5 to -20) and she is quiet sensitive to cold and may suffer from above frequently during this tenure.
