Is It Normal To Feel Weakness In Legs After A Stroke?

Question: The past couple of weeks I have been doing PT for my left leg due to the stroke on XXXXXXX 14th. It has been going great. However, yesterday for some unknown reason my leg just didn't seemed weaker then it has been and I had to sit down more often if I out walking. Is it typical for little setbacks like this to happen in recovering from a stroke?

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your current symptoms and past history.

During recovery from stroke, occasional minor setbacks are expected and you need not worry about that. You would bounce back in a few days.

Moreover, you are on adequate preventive medications such as plavix, aspirin and atorvastatin to prevent recurrence of stroke.

In addition, if you keep your BP and cholesterol levels within normal limits, we do not expect a stroke recurrence.
