Question: My son cut his finger on a rusty lid last night at work. His immunizations are current....including a tdap five years ago. Does he need another tetanus shot?

I am so sorry to hear about this cut your son sustained. I have review his vaccination history and there are no reasons to get worried at this time. With tdap 5years ago, he is well protected against a possible tetanus infection. He should wash the wound thoroughly and keep it clean for healing. If he’s in pain, I recommend tylenol/ibuprofen for pain management.
