Question: my friend is withdrawing from clonazepam. its been 7 days. she understands what is going on. alittle out of it- . giving her water, started eating alittle yesterday- took her to er mon sent her back home after checking vitals.what does she need to eat? she lose alot of weight. has trouble walking- help

Regarding the food questions, there is no relationship between clonazepam withdrawal and any particular type of food, so the same recommendations for a healthy balanced diet, possibly with a particular stress on fruit and vegetables remain, which apply to most people really.

She should be very careful about how the withdrawal is conducted though, it must be very gradual and periodical check-up with her physician meanwhile is recommended.
The recommendation is to reduce dose by around 10% every 1-2 weeks not abruptly.
Often psychological therapy is necessary as well.
Also attention must be payed to the possibility of emergence of till now hidden depression which needs to be treated with appropriate drugs before continuing withdrawal.
