Is It Easy To Detect A Cyst Near Prostate And What Can Cause Blood In Urine?

Question: My son recently had an ultrasound, when peeing there wad a few blood drops, this lasted 2 days a couple of times a day. Urine test detected a minor infection but the results found a cyst near his prostate. I am worried now, is this common? Is a cyst easy to detect or can it be confused with something else like a tumor?

Brief Answer: Hemaruria is due to infection in urine. Detailed Answer: Hello XXXX Thanks for writing to XXXXXXX Blood in urine(hematuria) is due to urinary tract infection in your case. Your son need proper clinical examination. He need proper antibiotics for infection. Antibiotics should be given after urine culture and sensitivity report.It is due to reason that now a days bacteria are resistant to many drugs. Cyst near Prostate is incidental finding.It is important to know age of your son and also need confirmation that cyst is near prostate or within the prostate.Mostly it is benign finding and doesn't require any treatment.
