Question: Hi,

My wife is 38 weeks pregnant with July 24th as the due date.
She has undergone the following scans till now:
1. Early pregnancy scan on 9 Dec 14
2. NT scan on 16 XXXXXXX 15
3. Anomaly scan on 12 Mar 15
4. Growth scan on 12 Jun 15
All scan results showed things normal.

Now the doctor has asked for one more growth scan on 9 Jul 15 & haemoglobin test as well.

I would like to know if one more growth scan is necessary on 9 Jul. will it provide any further information to help.

Thanks,
XXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir, thanks for trusting health care magic.
It is important to have a scan in last 2-3 weeks of pregnancy as it reveals certain vital information which is very helpful like -
- estimated weight of the baby
- presentation (head down or buttocks down)
- any loop of cord around neck
- amount of water around the baby
- grading or calcification of placenta.
So in my opinion also you should get the ultrasound done
All the best.
