Is It Advisable To Take Aleva Tablets While On Sumatriptan Succinate For Migraines?

Question: I take sumatriptan succinate oral for migraines. For the past week I have been sick with what the Kaiser doctor thinks is viral trachiitis (sp?) Since I have been ill I have had rolling headaches, i.e. I take a sumatriptan along with meloxican, as usual, the headache goes away but returns in 8-10hours. Since XXXXXXX 29 I have taken 10 sumatriptan, but no more than 3 in a 24-hour period, as my prescription says. Sumatriptan is the only medication that stops the headaches but I am worried about taking so many. I feel as though these headaches have a sinus component so I was thinking perhaps a could try an over-the-counter med
but don't know what is safe is Aleve Cold & Sinus ok? Is there something better?
Another concern is that it is July 4 and I only have 4 sumatriptan left. Please advise. Thanks so much

Brief Answer:
Does not have any interaction between sumatriptan and aleve cold & sinus

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your query.

I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions.

Drug interaction between sumatriptan and Aleve cold & sinus is not mentioned, hence you can take them. But i would suggest you to see doctor for conforming sinusitis.

As you are taking sumatriptan and maloxicam, i would have suggested you to take only nasal decongestant like pseudoepidrine rather than the combination, these are available as over the counter medication. Apart from this i would have suggested you to for steam inhalation 3 to 4 times a day. This measures will be helpful in addressing sinus issues if you have one.

Regarding sumatriptan, maximum dose per day is 300mg, so not to take more than this.

Yet again, I duly appreciate your query to me, I do hope that you have found something useful to help you and I shall be glad to answer any further apprehensions.

Sincerely.
