Is Intense Abdominal Pain A Symptom Of Ectopic Pregnancy In Women With Tubal Ligation?

Question: My wife is suffering from intense abdominal pain and menstrual cycle cramps but no bleeding or other symptoms of her period. We have two children and she has had a tubal ligation since 2011. Would it be possible she has a ectopic pregnancy?

I can understand your concern here.
The chances of ectopic pregnancy are there if she had missed her period and she has intense abdominal pain ( though the chances are less).
But before giving my opinion I want to ask a few questions from you.
Is she missed her period?
Is a pregnancy test is positive?
The exact position of pain?
Associated with any other symptoms like nausea and vomiting?

So far she is 17 days late on her pieriod, hasn't taken a test yet , has been falling asleep in random at random times from sheer exhaustion , has had migraines, and just feels out of it .

If she missed her menses by 17 days than first she should go for a home urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.
These symptoms can be due to an early sign of pregnancy or it can be due to other causes.
