Brief Answer:
You can continue the medication

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

I can understand your concern. Most common cause of cough/cold with fever in this age is some viral infection. Maxtra-p contains phenylephrine(a decongestant),chlorpheniramine(an antiallergic) and paracetamol(antipyratic).Ambrolite-s contains ambroxol a mucolytic(mucus thinning agent)and salbutamol(bronchodilator to prevent the airway spasm).
All these medications help in relieving cough/cold(be it dry or productive).
In maxtra-p there is paracetamol and it should not be used if fever has subsided. So I prefer to give plain maxtra. If needed paracetamol(crocin/dolo)can be given separately.
In most of the cases cough follows after cold and fever.Cough is not a side effect of any of these medications rather it is used in treating the same.
If cough is severe and it is disturbing sleep, there is associated vomiting or breathing problem consult your doctor for clinical evaluation and management accordingly.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more doubts.
Wishing for your baby's speedy recovery.
Regards
