default
Posted on Wed, 27 Apr 2016
Question: Hi,

I have had a C-section on Jan-15, 2016.
Doctor saw the wound & told it has recovered last week & hence i stopped the dressing that i was doing around the wound.
Only medication i am taking now is LM-FOLATE-2D once a day during night.
How soon can i start driving car?

Thanks,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
You may please start.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Since you have been operated on XXXXXXX 15 and Doctor has said that you have a healed wound, you can safely start driving a car after 6 weeks.
One can be allowed after 4 to 5 weeks if the car has high seat and entry and exit are absolutely easy, the chair accommodate you well without straining the back or the abdomen.
The old adage of savva mahina meaning 5 weeks of total rest after child birth actually stands good today also as the body acclimatizes well.
Since you were operated on XXXXXXX 15 and today is Feb 23, you may start driving the car provided you have no abdominal or back problem.

It also depends which car, how long you want to drive , traffic density and road conditions too matter a bit.

I hope this answers your query, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
