Brief Answer: Detailed explanation given below Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome to HCM, I understand the query and will be helping you. I am a gynecologist and the question was pertaining to gynec even though you chose oncology so I am answering this. You have mentioned a heightened sex drive and sore nipples as symptoms of pregnancy. Also you had a period only 1 1/2 week ago. Pregnancy occurs after the fertilization of the egg by a sperm and usually this happen between day 12-14 in a regular 28 -30 day cycle. So most likely you are ovulating now. After fertilization it takes another week for the baby to attach to the mother ans a week more to produce symptoms. So if you had a regular period 1 1/2 week ago, there is no chance of being pregnant now. You will come to know and detect pregnancy at the earliest around the next expected period date by a blood test and a week after missing the period by a urine test. These are the only possible ways. Hence the symptoms are most likely not due to pregnancy. Another possibility is that the period you had was an implantation bleed and not an actual period and so pregnancy is there. In this case a urine test will give positive results now. So it is best to get a urine test done now to rule out pregnancy. The tingly annoying muscle spasm may be related to certain medicines, low calcium, nerve issues or most of the time it is a sporadic phenomenon that reverts back to normal spontaneously. For this I suggest that you take B complex vitamins especially b 12 and folic acid, calcium supplements, use rock salt to provide essential minerals and trace metals and see if they get controlled. If they do not get controlled, you will need to see a physician and get evaluated for the cause. Thyroid disorders also lead to muscle fatigue and low feeling of cold. So a blood TSH estimation would help. Increased sex drive is mostly a psychological phenomenon and no harm in it. You have mentioned bi polar depression in the history. Please mention if you are taking any drugs and their names if possible as they may cause muscle dystonias as well as heightened sex drives. Hope this satisfies your query. Thanks for using HCM. Brief Answer: I understand Detailed Answer: Hello XXXX and welcome, If you are ovulating now, having sex now will result in pregnancy. Sexual episodes 48 hours before this will not cause pregnancy. If the test is negative implantation bleed and pregnancy in previous cycle are also ruled out. So you are not pregnant now. Pregnancy test will come positive in pregnancy: 2 weeks after unprotected sex using a blood test and 3 weeks after unprotected sex using a urine test. So if you are in doubt even now, get a urine test 3 weeks after the last day of unprotected sex using the first morning urine sample for best results. If you are ovulating now, there is no chance that you conceived earlier as there was no ovum to get fertilized before this. Pregnancy symptoms are variable and also appear at variable time. They commonly occur 1-2 weeks after missed period and range from nausea, vomiting, frequent urination, breast tenderness, fatigue and weakness. They are not specific and may not occur in every woman. Hope this helped. Please feel free for any more queries. Have a good day! Dr Madhuri Bagde [ I am not sure if you are trying for baby or do not want it. If a pregnancy is desired please start folic acid tablets to prevent brain defects in baby. If you do not want a baby it is better to use regular contraceptive measures if there are repeated sexual episodes. Condoms help in contraception as well as prevent sexual infections. Other methods are oral pills, implants, and intrauterine devices. Please ignore this information if not desired. Sorry for the long answers but I thought this information would be helpful for future.]
